      All you are really doing when you follow scammers' instructions to "remove" your number is that you're actually CONFIRMING your number and you will get more junk phone calls. The calls are illegal in the first place, why do you think these crooks are going to stop calling just because you press some number or go to their scammer website?

      I received a text message saying to go on line to Best Buy and enter 777 to win a $1,000 gift card.  I never use texting; so, how do they get my cell number, and how do I get rid of this nuisance?

      Multiple calls, all on a very bad connection and noisy background. Guy called later from a Jamaican number ("can you hear me now?") and told me I'd won some lottery I'd never entered, just needed to send him $450 so I could get $200,000. I don't think so.
